Really? They made that a song?

So, I'm listening to "Golden Oldies" streamed through iTunes and all of a sudden this song comes on. I"m not sure if I hear Ray Stevens or Kinky Friedman, but either way I had to search hard online to find the lyrics of the last verse--which apparenlty, is only rarely broadcast.

I busted up laughing and I wish everyone could have been in my disaster of a living room to watch clara groove to it while bouncing on her purple penguin. By the way, the "foreign parts" were AWESOME!

Kinky Friedman Ahab the Arab Lyrics:
Let me tell you 'bout Ahab The Arab The Sheik of
the burning sand He had emeralds and rubies just a
dripping offa him And a ring on every finger of
his hands He wore a big ol' turban wrapped around
his head And a scimitar by his side And every
evenin' about midnight He'd jump on his camel
named Clyde...and ride

(Spoken) Silently through the
night to the sultan's tent where he would secretly
meet up with Fatima of the Seven Veils, the
swingingest number one dancer in the Sultan's
whole harem, 'cause, like him and her had a thing
going, you know, and they'd been carrying on for
some time now behind the Sultan's back and you
could hear him talk to his camel as he rode out
across the dunes, his voice would cut through the
still night desert air and he'd say
[imitateArabic speech],
which is Arabic for,
"Stop,Clyde"!
And Clyde'd say,
[imitate camel voice],
Which is camel for " What the
heck did he say anyway?"!

Lest you think that be the entire song, check out the other verses here.

Just in case you were disinclined to click that link, but you were still wondering what happened to Ahab, he is, apparently, in a split level just hangin' out with Fatima and his camel Clyde.
